Summary
The Floresta da Posse project, located in Campo Grande, RJ, is an initiative developed in collaboration with the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Environment Secretariat. Its main objective is to provide infrastructure for public use in Serra da Posse, in addition to promoting management activities and forest restoration processes. The initiative also seeks to integrate forest fragments and offer sports, leisure and education options in contact with nature, both for local residents and visitors to the region.
The Project
Floresta da Posse is integrated into a series of hills that cover the neighborhoods of Campo Grande, Santíssimo and Senador Vasconcelos. This area plays a crucial role in the reforestation of the region, promoting environmental quality and increasing biodiversity. In this context, the project recognizes the Posse Forest as a strategic area that functions as a corridor for genetic flow and the regeneration of biological diversity.
Furthermore, active community participation is recognized as an essential tool for preserving these natural resources. The Floresta da Posse project is a collaborative initiative that has the support and engagement of several key actors, including community leaders, local residents, public authorities and private companies.
The design process started from a macro view of the Forest, its possible connections and fronts of action, through a synthesis map. This reading resulted in the development of some specific actions for the implementation of equipment for public and leisure use, such as: signage and visual communication elements, structuring of trails, construction of a viewpoint to contemplate the landscape, creation of picnic areas, creation of space for coexistence, planning of watercourses aimed at controlling erosion and tree and landscape management.
